  I bought a car from this garage in November 2015. The owner knew this was / is my first car and also knew I was a nervous driver having struck up conversation when I bought the car. The gearbox started playing up over Christmas so I brought it back in the middle of January to get it checked under warranty. Despite this he accused me of lying about problems with the car and said I was bringing it back for a "free service" before my warranty ran out. The problem with the car (gears not engaging - automatic) was an intermittent problem - I explained several times that "sods law" it might not happen while it was with them, but wanted it checked anyway. During a drive with the owner to discuss the issue and hopefully catch the gears problem in action, he got more and more defensive, rude and condescending, and said "I’ve been in this business longer than you’ve been alive" in a rude way, implying I didn’t know what I was talking about. I started to get choked up and he said "here come the woman waterworks" at which point I really did start to cry. I called him sexist, I explained I was not angry, just upset and that I just wanted to get my car checked out. As I got more upset he only got more rude especially after I called him sexist, and he told me to "fuck off" at least 3 times and that I was a "pain in the ass". At no point did I shout or swear at anyone. I was so distraught at this point that I did leave and was left walking through Exeter crying my eyes out. Older men might get a modicum of respect from this guy but younger woman should defiantly avoid this place. They don’t really deserve anyone’s money.
